Hi Jenna!
I'm so glad you're enjoying the books. I see that you put on your profile that you are a writer as well. If you're at all interested, I just did an interview for another website, answering questions sent in by readers. Many wanted to know about my experiences in Indie publishing my books. It was a long hard journey, but I feel it's been worth it in the reward of sharing with people who like the story. Anyway, as a writer I thought you might be interested in the publishing portion of the interview:

It's at:

I really hope you continue to enjoy the series!

"I came across your book from the recommendation of a friend who compared it to Buffy -- and for me that is the highest praise you can get. So I went to Amazon to check it out and that's what led me here.
I have to say that the cover of your books leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't look professional at all, and it actually turned me off of the series. This is not to say I won't read it, but I probably will borrow it from my friend, rather than buy my own. The cover of a book should entice the reader not turn them off, and I feel you may be losing a lot of potential readers. I don't mean to be rude, but I really would consider this because even in writing, appearance is everything. Good luck."

Hi Jenna,
Thanks for coming to check out my page. I also consider comparison to Buffy to be high praise (Joss Whedon is a genius!)

I'm sorry that you don't care for my book covers. I don't know if you've explored the website at all, or if your friend mentioned it, but you may have noticed that I am a completely Independently published author. That means that I not only wrote the books, I had to format, and edit them, do the cover design, publish, market and promote them - all by myself. As a working mom of 2, it was no easy task.

Someday when I am picked up by a publisher, they can put a graphic artist at my disposal to create a new cover for me. Until then, I have $0 budget and I have done it myself. I don't think they look bad for what I had to work with. As the saying goes - don't judge a book by it's cover.

The last thing I want is a generic picture of a half naked person that looks like every other book in the genre. My story is a unique paranormal vampire fantasy, and I think the covers reflect that. I also think they have attracted readers who have read the generic vampire stories that have flooded the market and are looking for something different. Those looking for a book just like every other series out there, should look elsewhere.

I began writing these books in 2003, before vampires were the 'trend', simply because they ignite my imagination and I had a story to share. I hope that you will check it out and enjoy that story. I'm very glad that your friend liked the books!
